Our Team

I was born near Ho Chi Minh City (formerly Saigon), South Vietnam.  My family and I immigrated to the Twin Cities in 1983 and settled in New Brighton where I grew up and attended Bel Air Elementary and Highview Middle School.  After graduating from Spring Lake Park High School, I attended college at St. Cloud State University majoring in Biomedical Sciences.  Immediately after college, I was accepted into optometry school at Illinois College of Optometry in Chicago where I earned my Doctor of Optometry degree.

I have been practicing optometry in the Twin Cities for nearly 20 years.  My favorite aspect of patient care is getting to know my patients on a personal level and then reconnecting with them again at their annual exams to hear updates of their lives.  My fundamental practice philosophy is to examine each patient's ocular health as if I am taking care of my own eyes.  I also believe it is crucial to provide my full attention and focus on each patient so that every patient feels they have been fully heard in order to be properly assessed and cared for.  These practice philosophies encompasses memorable eye care which is a foundation of Maple Grove Eye Care.     

It has been my goal to build my own eye care office in a flourishing city where my family and I reside in.  My wife (Paoye), children (Olivia, Natalie, and Reece), and I have lived in Maple Grove since 2014.  My kids attend Rush Creek Elementary and they play soccer.  We are a soccer family - Go MapleBrook!  My family and I also enjoy yummy food.  Foods I enjoy the most are steaks, burgers, pizzas, sandwiches, chicken wings, ice cream, pastries, and donuts.  I can eat Leeann Chin's peking chicken and fried rice every meal for many years.  A last fun food fact about me is that I got 3rd place in a Maple Grove Days pizza eating contest in 2019.

I was born in Ban Vinai, a refugee camp in Thailand. My family and I immigrated to St. Paul, MN in 1987 to better our lives like many Hmong refugees. After graduating from Harding High School, I continued my education at the University of MN - Twin Cities. My studies were concentrated on business courses in order to take the Certified Public Accountant Exams for my CPA license.

My CPA license has been inactive since 2012 as I welcomed my role as a stay-at-home mom to my three beautiful children: Olivia, Natalie, and Reece. I have embraced the joy and experienced the dynamics of staying home with my children for the last decade. Now that all my children are in school full time, I am looking forward to starting a new endeavor with Maple Grove Eye Care. 

When I am not at the office, I find excitement in watching my children play soccer and joy in listening to them play the piano. We love playing board and card games as a family. Uno Flip is our current favorite game.
